Uni-band LED wristband
August 6th, 2008 - Wearables
Shinshoku built this stainless steel band wrap which features a matrix of punched out holes with 29 bright LEDs underneath the surface, illuminating the time of day.
Two models are available: a clear strap with multi-colored LEDs and a black strap with multi-colored LEDs.
When you push the upper button the LEDs will animate and they will cascade across the band to indicate the time. When you press the lower button it will skip the animation and go straight to indicating the time.
The 12 red LEDs indicate the hour, the 3 green LEDs indicate 15, 30 and 45 minutes and the yellow LEDs indicate the single minutes.
This unique method is supposed to make it easy to tell the time, but I know that if I should wear this I would be confused with all the lights.
The subtle etched markings on the strap make sure you can easily distinguish between hours and minutes. The advantage of this design is that you can easily know what time it is at night.
The strap is self-adjustable and fits wrist sizes up to 8.5 inches.
Priced at $137 and available on TokyoFlash.
